Alister is a well-credentialed and respected consultant in
Australia with significant experience in implementing lean through
facilitation, workshops and training.
Alister has over 20 years of business experience in the areas of
finance, operations, general management and consulting. He
has specific expertise in the implementation of lean process
improvement across a range of industries including manufacturing,
mining, defence, healthcare, banking, government and other service
organisations.
Before becoming a consultant he was Managing Director of Cooper
Standard Automotive Australia, responsible for all aspects of
the business, including safety, manufacturing, engineering, sales,
purchasing and logistics, quality, finance, risk management, human
resources for 250 people. In that role he helped achieve
significant improvements in labour productivity (up 33%), scrap
(down 33%), customer quality and delivery. This was achieved
through implementation of various lean approaches – Value Stream
Mapping, Kaizen, Kanban, visual management, 5S, quick changeover
and error proofing.
